The Neutrality of America in WWI

The events that led to World War I started in Europe during the summer. As the country stood on the sidelines, most Americans wanted to remain uninvolved. On this day, President Woodrow Wilson formally proclaimed US neutrality and kept America out of the war… for a few years.
