History Illustrated is run by one teacher. This page covers two things: this website and the History Illustrated Games app. Pick the one you want.
Part one
The website
You can watch, play and download everything here without an account and without giving us anything. We only have your email address if you write to us, and we never sell it.
What we collect
- Email: your name, your email address and whatever you write, if you choose to contact us.
That is all. There are no accounts, no sign-ins and nothing for sale on this site.
What we do with it
- Messages are used to reply to you.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information.
Companies that help run the site
- Cloudflare hosts this website. Like most website hosts, it keeps standard server records and counts general visit numbers, such as which pages are popular. It does not use cookies to do this. We see totals, not people.
- YouTube and Google supply the videos, the fonts, and the downloads, which are kept in Google Drive. When a page shows a video or a file, your browser fetches it from Google, and Google may set its own cookies. Google's privacy policy covers what it does with that.
What stays in your browser
To load faster, the site saves the list of videos and downloads in your browser for about an hour. The games on this site save your progress and high scores the same way. None of this is sent to us, and clearing your browser data erases it.
Sharing
A Share button passes a link to your device's share menu or copies it. You choose where it goes, and we keep no record of it.
Students and children
This site is made to be used in classrooms. Students can watch, play and download without giving any information. Email is meant for teachers, parents and other adults. If a child has sent us information by mistake, email us and we will delete it.

Part two
The History Illustrated Games app
History Illustrated Games is a free app with no ads and no accounts.
The app does not collect, store, or share any information about you.
What the app does not do
- It does not ask for your name, email, or any other personal information.
- It does not have accounts or sign-ins.
- It does not show ads.
- It does not use analytics or tracking tools.
- It does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photos.
- It does not send your game activity anywhere.
What stays on your device
Your game progress, CIRCA streak and scores, passport stamps, and settings are saved on your own phone or tablet so they are there the next time you open the app. This information never leaves your device, and we cannot see it. You can erase it at any time with "Reset all progress" in the app's settings or by deleting the app.
Sharing your results
If you tap Share, the app hands a picture of your result to your device's share menu. You choose where it goes, and the app does not keep a record of it.
Links that leave the app
Some buttons open this website, our YouTube channel, or the App Store. The website is covered by part one of this page. YouTube and the App Store have their own privacy policies, and what they collect is up to them.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.
The app also has Terms of Use.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
